Find taiji pushing hands practice partners where you live

Have you taken up the practice of taiji? Perhaps online?
Taiji partner exercises are essential to deepen your practice and go beyond the basics. PushPal exists to facilitate connecting to other taiji practitioners in your area.

How it works

PushPal is a simple service that enables you to locate and connect with other taiji practitioners using a live map. Your anonymity and contact details are safeguarded until you choose to make contact with someone.

Locate other users

PushPal consists of an interactive map with markers of the approximate location of other users. You can also receive an email notification when a new user nearby you joins PushPal.

Planning a trip? Have a look for other users at your destination and meet up for a session!

Check out profiles

Clicking on a marker brings up a user's profile. Your profile can contain whatever you think other users might find useful (or fun?) to know about you.

Frequently Asked Questions

PushPal is not complicated, but see below for some answers to some common questions.

Is my position tracked?

In order to determine your approximate position on the map PushPal will require your position to be shared at least once. Your exact location does not leave your computer, and only a scrambled position (±1 km) is sent to the server.
If you allow it to, PushPal will also update your position every time you log in if your position differs significantly from your previous position.
This scheme was easiest to implement, but if it bothers you let me know and I will consider offering other (more manual) means.

How are my contact details used?

Your email address is made available to another user if you send them a message or if you reply to a message from them. No other contact details are shared.

Do I need a Google or Facebook account to sign up?

Yes. This is to make onboarding as speedy, secure and painless as possible. For the time being Google and Facebook are supported.

Is it free?

There is no upfront cost for PushPal membership. The service is offered as a gift to the community in the spirit of the gift economy. However, maintaining the services costs time and money so if you would like to support the running and further development of PushPal, donations via Ko-Fi are gladly accepted.
